In 2009, The Campaign Against Hunger began its first garden with a grant from United Way of New York. Many in the community did not think we could grow our own food in Bed-Stuy, but we did it. From that moment on our Urban Agro-Ecological Centers were seeded, moving the food justice discussion into our own backyard. Today TCAH’s Urban Agro-Ecological Centers feature over 100 variety of crops and provide over 20,000 pounds of food to New Yorkers in need.
The Campaign Against Hunger’s Farmer’s Markets run July – November, Tuesday – Saturday: 10 AM to 2 PM at Far Rock Farm and Tuesday – Friday: 9 AM to 2 PM; Saturday: 8 AM – 3 PM at Saratoga Farm. Come out and visit one of our Urban Agro-Ecological Centers for farm fresh produce. See you soon!
Join The Campaign Against Hunger for our annual Children’s Harvest Festival! Enjoy arts an crafts, face painting, farm fresh goodies and tour our urban farms. It’s a great event for families in the cities to have a little fun in celebration of Autumn!
